Flames Add Brenda van Stralen As Girls Technical Director

van Stralen also named U15G & U17G DA Head Coach

We are pleased to announce the addition of Brenda van Stralen as the West Florida Flames Girls Technical Director and to our US Soccer Development Academy coaching staff for the 2019/2020 season.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with the West Florida Flames. Everyone has been very supportive throughout this process. I am looking forward to further build upon the success of the club,” said van Stralen.

A Five-Time Northeast Conference Coach of the year at the Division 1 level, Brenda brings 15 years of head coaching experience in the collegiate game to the West Florida Flames. 

During her tenure with St. Francis University, Brenda coached 46 All-Conference players and secured four regular season conference titles and four Northeast Conference tournament championships.

Not only a decorated and successful coach, Brenda also competed at the highest levels of the game as a player.  Originally from the Netherlands, Brenda was a member of the Dutch National Team from 1994-1995, a three- time Division II National Champion and a two-time NSCAA All-American.

"We are extremely pleased and excited to welcome Brenda van Stralen to the West Florida Flames.  Not only a decorated and successful coach at the collegiate level, Brenda competed as a player and knows what it takes to excel at the highest levels of the game.  She has first hand knowledge of competing and winning, while simultaneously helping players achieve their maximum potential.  This vast experience will serve as a wonderful addition to our Girls Development Academy coaching staff as we continue to build upon our youth development platform and take our program to new heights," said Flames US Soccer Development Academy Director Kacey White.

Brenda will also serve as the Head Coach for the Development Academy U15 (2005) and U17 (2003) girls teams.
