Return to Play Guidance (COVID-19)

Participant safety is our priority. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for our players, coaches, referee’s, and parents to enjoy the game we love.
It is important to emphasize these guidelines to ensure continued opportunities to play.

Prior to any participation:

HEALTH CHECK:
All participants, athletes, coaches, technical staff, administrative staff, referee’s, and spectators must confirm they are not experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 or been in contact with anyone testing positive for COVID-19.

  • Symptoms related to COVID-19

o Fever

o Cough

o Shortness of breath

o Sore throat

o Loss of taste or smell

  • No contact with anyone with a confirmed COVID-19 within the last 14 days
  • Not been restricted or quarantined from other activities

Any participant who is unable to confirm the information listed above should restrict themselves from participation and contact a healthcare professional.

West Florida Flames Return to Play Protocols regarding RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 RNA (COVID-19)

  • Positive COVID-19 test:  A player that tests positive may return to play 10 days after the date of their first positive RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 RNA and resolution of fever for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and improvement of other symptoms. Participants must provide a copy of the laboratory confirmed positive test result from a qualified physician or technician. 

  • Any player who has recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 RNA and has provided a laboratory confirmed test results to WFF and remains asymptomatic is not required to quarantine or repeat testing within 90 days.

  • Positive COVID-19 Contact:  Player may return to play after 10-day quarantine and or may return to play on the Seventh day if a negative RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 RNA (COVID-19) test is obtained between day 5 and day 7.  Continued watch for symptom through day 14 after exposure.
