Steve joins us from Orlando City Youth Soccer Club in Sanford, Florida where he served as Executive Director. Under his leadership the youth club was set on a path of growth and stability. Steve also served as Executive Director for Santa Rosa United in California. In addition, Steve recently served on the board of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). Steve has a rich experience as a leader on both the East and West Coasts of the United States. Outside of youth soccer, Steve coached college soccer for over 10 years at University of Massachusetts, UCLA and Saint Mary’s College. While coaching at UMass, he earned an M.B.A. in Finance. After coaching college soccer, he became an assistant coach with LA Galaxy of the MLS, then went on to assist the U20 Women’s National team in the 2006 World Championships in Russia.
Steve’s athletic experiences include high school, college and professional play. As a high school player he was Parade Magazine’s National Player of the Year, an All-American, and played for our U17 National team. Following his youth play, he succeeded in college as an All-American, Conference Freshman of the Year, and then Conference Player of Year in his senior year. He was runner-up in voting for the Hermann, college soccer’s player of the year. He also played in two Final Fours losing in the national championships his senior year. Following college, he played for our national team and professionally. As a professional player, he went to two MLS Cup finals, was an MLS All-Star, and scored the leagues first MLS hat-trick in history.
