1975 – 2025
This year marks an incredible milestone for the West Florida Flames — 50 years of igniting passion, building community, and inspiring excellence through soccer. Since our founding in 1975, the Flames have grown into one of the largest and most respected youth soccer organizations in Tampa. What began as a small local program has flourished into a vibrant community with over 12,000 members and 5,000 players across the Tampa Bay area.
Throughout the past five decades, we have stayed true to our mission: to promote the sport of soccer while creating positive, supportive, and developmental experiences for players of all ages and abilities. From recreational youth players to elite-level athletes in MLS NEXT and the Girls Academy, every player at West Florida Flames finds a home to grow, compete, and thrive.
Our anniversary is more than just a celebration of time — it’s a reflection of our unwavering values of passion, respect, leadership, empathy, and unity. These principles have shaped not just athletes, but responsible citizens and future leaders. With our commitment to community, culture, and excellence, we continue to provide modern, inclusive programming that teaches both soccer and life skills in a safe, empowering environment.
As we look ahead, we do so with gratitude for the players, families, coaches, staff, and volunteers who made the last 50 years possible — and with excitement for what’s to come.
Here’s to the next 50 years of Flames soccer!
